Writer's picture: Ravi Gandhi, MDRavi Gandhi, MD

Spinal Stenosis is a narrowing of the spaces within your spine, which can put pressure on the nerves that travel through the spine. Spinal stenosis occurs most often in the lower back and the neck.

Treatment for Spinal Stenosis includes both non-surgical and surgical options, the course of treatment depends on the cause. When stenosis is caused by a herniated disc, this may be treated with physical therapy and exercise, whereas surgical trimming by necessary in the case of overgrown bony protrusions from the facets.

Non-Surgical Treatments for Spinal Stenosis

  1. Physical Therapy

  2. Exercise

  3. Self Care and Activity Modification

  4. Anti-Inflammatory Medication

  5. Epidural Injections
